ROMAN BRIDGE
Near the San Vincenzo Abbey. 20 minutes from the Agriturismo Ranco di Sopra.
VILLA COLOMBARA
Remnants of a Roman villa of 100 b.C.; the rests can be viewed at the Antiquarium (Archaeological Museum). Address: Via Colombara. 15 minutes from the Agriturismo Ranco di Sopra.
CAGLI, MALLIO BRIDGE
The bridge named Mallio takes the name from M. Allius, cited in an inscription, later found to be false. It's one of the most imposing constructions along the via Flaminia and shows peculiar characteristics both from a structural point of view, and for the possibility of distinguishing various stages of intervention. 15 minutes from the Agriturismo Ranco di Sopra.
CANTIANO, PONTE GROSSO (Bulky Bridge)
The area has plenty of well preserved, although neglected, remnants of Augustian constructions, built to make the via Flaminia functional. The one mentioned is called Ponte Grosso. It is a cyclopean, two 3.50 metre-archs bridge, with cornelian stone wedges of grandiose proportions and marvelous finish. The width of the structure is about 10 metres, unusual measure in those times. Address: Archaeological Area of Pontericcioli. 20 minutes from the Agriturismo Ranco di Sopra.
PONTONE
It's an embankment wall called "Pontone" (big bridge) from the inhabitants of the place. Made of gravel stone, its blocks are perfectly squared. Built to prevent landslide from the hill above, it still carries on well its work due to some solid counter-pushing barbicans. Address: Archaeological Area of Pontericcioli. 20 minutes from the Agriturismo Ranco di Sopra.
ROMAN PONTE GROSSO (Bulky Bridge)
It stands up on the mouth of the Burano river. It's a two 7 metre-archs roman bridge. The limestone of its structures doesn't have unusual measures and the execution of the construction looks refined. The floods have damaged it upriver reducing the lane span to just three metres. Address: Ponte Grosso. 20 minutes from the Agriturismo Ranco di Sopra.
