Gubbio

Typical medieval town of Umbria, at 522 metres on sea level, in the declivity of mounts Foce, Ingino and D'Ansciano. In its walls it encloses public and private palaces, churches and convents, houses and artisan workshops. Gubbio keeps its traditions alive, from the inns and cellars where the umbrian specialities can be tasted, to the artisan pottery workshops, metal working- and wood carving-shops, antiques and medieval weapons stores. Famous the crossbow contest, further than the big candles race. The crossbows are manufactured following traditional techniques, handed down from father to son since the Middle Ages.
